Bringing you dogs to France
Your dog is welcome at our holiday cottages!
To ensure a hassle-free stay in France, please follow these important rules:
- Your dog must be microchipped (compliant with ISO Standards 11784/11785).
- Rabies vaccination is mandatory and must be administered at least 21 days before entry.
- An official EU Pet Passport (for EU residents) or an Animal Health Certificate (for non-EU residents) is required.
- Certain breeds—such as Staffordshire Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers (pitbulls), Mastiffs, Tosas, and crossbreeds without recognized pedigree papers—are prohibited from entering France. Rottweilers are subject to strict rules and, in some cases, additional local restrictions. Please consult the official French customs website or the European Commission’s site for details on banned breeds and document requirements.
- Dogs younger than 15 weeks are not allowed to enter France.
- You may only bring up to five dogs per person under the non-commercial import rules.
